Cooling Stations Open Across North Texas
NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - To help those who need relief during the extreme heat the Salvation Army has set up more than a dozen cooling stations across North Texas. The cooling stations, that provide cool drinks and a cool environment, are meant to help people who are homeless, don't have air conditioning in their home or work outdoors.
On average, last summer, area cooling stations had some 300 visits a day.
Two cooling stations will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. seven days a week. They are located at:
