BEDFORD (CBSDFW.COM) - When you drive through Euless and Bedford you see blue ribbons on trees, power poles and painted on the ground.
A high school football stadium will host a public memorial Saturday for Euless Officer David Hofer who was shot and killed in the line of duty Tuesday.
CBS11 watched for an hour Friday and there was never a minute when someone was not at a memorial for the officer outside the Euless Police Department.
Folks set down badges, notes and hundreds of flowers.
"I came out on Wednesday twice. I brought two children the second time because I felt it was an important lesson for them," says Cathy Ashton who's been to the memorial outside police department three times.
The staff from Bob Parra's Auto Repair Shop showed up together.
"To know that something so awful could happened just a couple doors down from us, right here in our heart our home," Parra says.
As many as 90 NYPD officers are expected to be at the memorial Saturday. Officer Hofer will be buried in New York.
