Colleyville Westlake Ace Hardware Offers Tax-Free Storm Supplies

COLLEYVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) – Westlake Ace Hardware store in Colleyville is getting ready for high volume sales of storm supplies the next few days.

Starting at midnight Friday through midnight on Monday stores across the state will participate in the 2016 Emergency Preparation Supplies Sales Tax Holiday.

The tax free holiday aims at giving customers stocking up on necessary storm supplies a break at the register.

Shawn Hurst, one of the managers at Westlake Ace Hardware says they have already sold out of generators and expect this tax free holiday will clean them out of many other items. Hurst added, "It has been a constant thing we have had to stay on top of."

There is no limit to how many items one can buy but there are restriction as to what qualifies as a storm preparation item.

State officials estimate shoppers will save an estimated 1.4 million dollars in tax breaks this weekend.
