Cloudy & Chilly, But Arctic Air Is On The Move!
CLOUDY, CHILLY WEATHER TO CONTINUE…
Chilly weather looks to be with us for the next 6 days with a several rain chances.
PATTERN CHANGE…
Just about everyone east of the Rockies has been asking "where is winter?". Well, it will make itself known by this weekend. The upper level air pattern is finally changing allowing cold Arctic air to make a run for the United States. The map below of North America shows an Upper Level Low over the Hudson Bay area. This is the classic setup for cold air to come out of the Arctic Circle and dive southward.
The brunt of this cold air will be pushed into the Great Lakes and the Northeast. High temperatures in Buffalo will be in the 10s this weekend. Chicago will also see highs only in the 20s this weekend. But we will get a glancing blow of this cold air with temperatures in the 40s for highs this weekend.
RAIN CHANCES…
We have a chance of some light rain showers on Friday as an upper level disturbance arrives before the cold air move our way. This will not be a heavy rain, but mainly spotty drizzle and light rain during the day on Friday. This will just add to the gloominess feel to the weather.
Another rain chance will present itself Monday and then again on Wednesday of next week. Thunderstorms look to be a better bet next Wednesday, but on Monday we are looking at mainly showers.
