City-Owned Buildings In Dallas Could Go Solar
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - In an effort to save money, Dallas City Hall will consider using more solar panels on several city facilities.
The council's transportation committee is considering whether to place the panels on several locations, including the roofs of the Dallas Convention Center, Dallas Police Stations and Dallas Love Field.

Kris Sweckard with the Office of Environmental Quality says the benefits are numerous. Sweckard says the short term costs of the plan are relatively high, but will be substantially offset with federal funds and grants from Oncor.
Sweckard says the panels could potentially save the city millions.
