MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) - There has been another report about an attempted child abduction in North Texas. This time, the alert goes out to families in Mesquite after a man allegedly tried to lure a boy into a vacant home or alley at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The incident happened near the intersection of Northridge Drive and Highland Street. This location is close to Tisinger Elementary School and Wilkinson Middle School, and about a mile away from Handby Elementary School.

The student attends Wilkinson Middle School, but the Mesquite Independent School District informed parents from all three campuses about the kidnapping attempt.

District officials also encouraged parents to remind their children about 'stranger danger.' Students are advised to walk in groups and be on the lookout for any suspicious people.

There have been similar concerns in Fort Worth recently. Parents attended a Thursday meeting looking for reassurance after a man was arrested last week. Declois Beacham has been accused of trying to trade money for sex acts with young boys. At least three children came forward.

The Fort Worth Police Department's Interim Chief Rhonda Robertson told the crowd that she is confident that the bad guy has been found. "This is an individual who was approaching juveniles, young men, and asking them to perform sex acts," she said. "We take this very seriously. Of course there was outrage in the community."

That investigation remains active, but police expect the case to be wrapped up very soon.
