Celebration Planned For Frogs
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The city of Fort Worth may bleed purple after TCU's big win on New Year's Day, but the Rose Bowl celebration may have to be held off a little while.
Many of the Fort Worth campus' students are still on Christmas break, and haven't returned to school.
But yes, there will be a big celebration at TCU over their 21-19 Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin, but it's going to take some time.
Mark Cohen with the TCU Athletic Department says they've started talking about it with city leaders. Classes don't resume until next Monday and many are still making their way back from Pasadena
"I think we had half the student body out there in Pasadena, are (they) are still in route back from California. And our football student athletes, they are on break right now."
He expects a big celebration with a huge student and fan turnout.
City leaders want to make sure the Frogs are honored in the right way. "We gotta finish this off right. I think its important that we work with the school and come up with some kind of idea to really commemorate the season. A perfect 13-and-0. A Rose Bowl win. We gotta do something," says Councilman Danny Scarth.
Cohen says except for the NFL, the Rose Bowl was the highest rated event on ESPN.
An announcement is expected later in the week on a possible parade or rally for the team.
