CBS 11 Says Farewell To One Of Its Own

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - It's with heavy hearts tonight that we have to say goodbye to a longtime member of the CBS 11 family. Our friend, Tom Finn, passed away Friday night.

A long-time news editor, Finn suffered a heart attack. He was with the TV station for 30 years. And in that 30 years, he wore many hats.

He anchored the news and weather cut-ins when the station was an independent. Finn was a reporter and a news photographer. He eventually moved to editing when KTVT became a CBS affiliate.

"When we talk about Tom, everyone describes him the same way: the rock in the newsroom, the rock of the editing department, the man so many leaned on, the nicest guy, the one so many trusted every day," said Vice President and News Director at CBS 11, Adrienne Roark. "He never said no, he always raised his hand when something needed to be done. He was always there for all of us."

Beloved by so many, Finn was born and raised in Fort Worth. He graduated from UT-Arlington. He loved live music, cycling, good food and sharing fun stories. Finn wasn't married and didn't have children, but he was very close with his brother and sister, both of whom are in Fort Worth.

"This is a horrible blow to all of us. Our hearts are aching," said Roark.

Finn's family is in our thoughts and prayers. We will all miss him very much.
