Can Roy Williams and Jon Kitna Save the Cowboys?
A word of advice for fantasy football owners; While it looks desperate for your Dallas Cowboys, Roy Williams might get more action.
Roy talked today in the locker room about his relationship with Jon Kitna, whom he worked with for two seasons in Detroit. Williams reminded me that Kitna threw for 4000 yards in back to back seasons. His favorite target? Roy Williams. In fact, the two burned the Cowboys 39-31 in the 2006 season finale in which Kitna threw for 306 yards and 4 touchdowns, two of those to Roy, who caught six for 104 yards that day.
"His best throw is the deep slant," Roy told me today. "Just throw it up there, let me go get it, and it is 20 yards and a first down."
Roy was not dissing Tony Romo in the least when he said he didn't think there would be much dropoff with Kitna. He just believes in the talent of his former quarterback. By the way...Romo is having a team Halloween party Sunday night....Marty B is going as Harry Potter. Perfectly, imperfect.
You can criticize Roy all you want about his play, which has been pretty darned good this season. But he is always there when the media is looking for someone to talk with about the goings on of this currently woeful football team.
