Bud Light? No Thanks, I'll Stick With Water
The bestselling beer in the United States is Bud Light. Number two is Budweiser, and number three is Coors Light (according to these guys, but their sourcing seems solid).
If those are my only choices, I'll stick with water.
Some people are wine snobs. I'm what you might call a beer snob, and I happily admit it. I like my beer to have flavor and character.
To me, the difference between Bud Light and something like Trappistes Rochefort 10 is like McDonald's vs. Ruth's Chris. Both serve beef. But nobody is going to mistake a Big Mac for a New York strip.
Fortunately, today there are more people than ever who think and drink like I do, and great beer is easy to find.
There are several beer snobs here at CBSDFW.COM, and we decided to start writing about it.
In this blog we'll talk about good and bad beers, beer bars, beer stores, breweries, and anything else that fits.
We hope to share with you some beers you might not know about and encourage you to try them.
Good beer is an acquired taste. But once you start drinking the good stuff, you'll never look at the Banquet Beer the same way again.
We'd love to hear from you, whether you're a beer snob or not. If you know a beer or a bar that we should check out, please let us know in the comments below. And if you disagree with us, we'd like to hear about that, too.
Prosit!
