Bring On The Rain! And The Cooler Temps!
I've been talking about this rain chance all week, and it still looks good. A cold front combined with rich tropical moisture will lead to rain Thursday night into the day on Friday. Rain coverage should push 60% to 70%! Some area will likely see 1/2" to 1.5" of rain. A few areas even more and a few a little less.
Below is a look at the tropical satellite/radar. Tropical Storm Manuel is on the west coast of Mexico and a new Tropical Storm will form in the southern Gulf of Mexico in the next 24 to 48 hours. It will be named Jerry.
There is also moisture left over from what was once Ingrid over northern Mexico and southern Texas.
COLD FRONT ON THE MAP
The cold front that arrives Friday is draped across Colorado, Nebraska and South Dakota.
RAIN CHANCES
The best chance of rain will come during the day on Friday, but there will be rain chances starting Thursday and Thursday night.
HOW MUCH RAIN
As mentioned above, most areas will see 1/2" to 1.5" of rain. I have different computer models that I look at to forecast rainfall potential. Below is how my different models show rainfall for DFW.
RAIN TIMING
Below is my CBS 11 High Resolution Forecast Model showing different time frames and where the rain will be located.
It dries out for the weekend and check out the temperatures Saturday morning! Just great for soccer this weekend.
