Body Of Missing Man Found In Trinity River

CARROLLTON (CBSDFW) - The body of a missing North Texas man was recovered Wednesday morning in the Trinity River by Carrollton Fire Rescue.

According to authorities, 27-year-old Vanoris Horton's body was pulled from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.

Horton had been missing since the early morning hours of July 4 when he called his girlfriend asking for a ride. Horton told her he had to cross the river to get to the highway, and that was the last she had heard from him.

Dallas Fire Resuce, Air One and Carrollton Fire Rescue had searched for Horton on the fourth and fifth but we're unable to locate him.

Authorities say they closed the dam on Tuesday night which allowed the water to go down and enabled them to find his body Wednesday.
