Body Found In Fountain In Front Of Dallas City Hall

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are investigating after a body was found in the reflecting pool in front of Dallas City Hall late Friday evening.

Dallas Fire-Rescue recovered the body of a man after, police say, it appeared that he jumped into the fountain from his scooter and didn't resurface.

Police Sgt. Warren Mitchell says the incident happened just before midnight Friday.

Police are investigating the incident as an unexplained death. It is unknown if the man suffered any injuries prior to going into the water.

The man's identity has not yet been released.

The plaza at Dallas City Hall includes a 180-foot diameter hip-deep reflecting pool and fountain, with two red sculptures.
