Big Spenders Renting Big Homes For Super Bowl
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - How much would you pay to stay in a fancy home during the week of the Super Bowl? The accomodations extend far beyond some of the most exclusive North Texas hotels, and some high rollers are spending big bucks to live in luxury during the big game.
CBS 11 News took a tour of one amazing home that is available to rent during the week of the Super Bowl. According to realtor Vanessa Andrews with Magnificent Properties, some celebrities prefer the privacy of a home over the very public hotel rooms.
Besides, all North Texas luxury hotels are booked during Super Bowl week. Some of those rooms started with packages at $3,500.
Perched high atop a rolling landscape in far southwest Fort Worth sits a $5 million gem available for rent, if the price is right. "The Mira Vista Villa is the ultimate house for the Super Bowl," Andrews said. "Four levels of the ultimate luxury, for the ultimate client."
And the rent? Approximately $10,000 per day with a five-day minimum. So, what does $50,000 buy during Super Bowl week? More than you can imagine: a rustic, south-of-the-border cantina with an open-air bar, a fireplace, a barbeque and a sweeping scenic view that overlooks Lake Benbrook. And that's just outside.
Inside, escape into a private wine grotto, or one of four bedroom suites that are sprawls across the 11,000 square foot home. Relax in the home theater room. Get fit in the indoor basketball court or workout room.
It might be overkill for some, but there are big spenders who are looking to score this property – and some nice privacy – while staying in North Texas. "We've had a number of inquiries for Super Bowl rentals from people who are on the Forbes 100 list," Andrews said. "You're in a high security, gated community, which appeals to the people who want to be here."
The home does have an owner, who said that a detailed contract will be drafted and signed to protect the integrity of his property.
And if you're not in the market for a $50,000 getaway, Andrews said that other properties are available to rent in Plano for just about $6,000 for the week.
