Big Rains Coming In
Once the morning fog cleared we started marching toward a nice afternoon. It'll be a wonderful evening for the Main Street Arts Festival:
Saturday we'll have a 20% chance of a passing shower through the day. Rain chances start to pick up late in the night heading into Sunday. A powerful storm system comes in from the west. We get the worst of it on Sunday as the heaviest rain moves in during the afternoon hours from the west:
There is a threat of severe weather on Sunday afternoon and evening: damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible. The highest threat will be flash flooding:
This storm is also going to bring an impressive late-season snow into the ski resorts of Colorado. The snow gets into Denver:
You can see how the system moves during the day on Sunday. It'll be a slow mover... the rain will be heavy all the way into Monday night. It is possible that in 48 hours we make up for the rain deficit we have for the year at DFW (-3.40"):
