This includes programs for kids, adults and seniors, parks and community centers, special events and much more. Interested residents do need to register, and they normally are required to use the rec center in their district.
The Dallas Park & Recreation Department offers a number of fitness programs. Outside of exercising at the local community centers, there are also adult sports leagues for people to get involved with. The two main sports programs offered are basketball and softball, although there are also chances for boxing, fencing, martial arts, pickleball, soccer and volleyball leagues. People can register to play basketball for $200 per team. Softball is held through three seasons in the spring, summer and fall.
Often working parents find dealing with a child's after school schedule difficult. But the Dallas Park & Recreation Department has parents covered. They have special after school programs for kids aged five to 12, and they partner with the schools. This after school program will not just have kids playing, but will also expose them to activities that will help them learn and master new skills, including arts, sports, fitness and more.
