Formerly the Texas School Book Depository, the museum offers an opportunity for the public to learn more about the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Don't miss the extensive exhibits, including a massive collection of media files – photos, film and video – in the archives. The museum is open every day except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Mondays from noon to 6 p.m.

The reason Fort Worth calls itself Cowtown can be found just north of downtown at the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. The Stockyards gives a chance to see "where the west begins." If you get there at the right time of day, you can also get a glimpse of the daily cattle drive that passes through the Stockyards, just watch where you step afterward.
