Deep Ellum has been Dallas' most famous art community for decades, and the Deep Ellum Arts Festival is the biggest and brightest the community has to offer. The three-day free festival will feature 200 artists and their original works, with more than a hundred bands, singers and performance artists working on five different stages. Stick around for Sunday's community non-denominational spiritual service at 11 a.m., followed by the famous Pet Parade at noon.

The Dallas Art Fair has seen more than 20,000 guests since it began in 2009. This year's fair will feature more than 70 prominent artists and art dealers, both modern and contemporary. Exhibits will include paintings, sculpture, prints and photos. The Art Fair begins with a Preview Gala Thursday, April 12, which will benefit the Dallas Contemporary and Nasher Sculpture Center.

The BooksmART Festival is a family-friendly gathering of writers, artists, musicians, and storytellers for the whole family. Originally founded in 2004 by the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, CityArts Festival takes place in Fair Park over Memorial Day Weekend, and is free to the public. ARTFEST returns this year to bring in more than two hundred visual artists from across the country for the juried art show. The festival will also feature ArtCars and a collection of antique cars, after-dark outdoor film screenings, and free or reduced admission to Fair Park's world famous museums. There will also be multiple stages with music, dancing, and other performing arts.

The Cottonwood Art Festival has been a tradition for more than 40 years and will feature more than 240 local, regional, and national artists this year. The art festival is juried, with about 1,400 artists initially submitting works for consideration in 14 different categories, including 2D and 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Digital, Drawings/Pastels, Leather, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and others.
There's also an ArtStop area for the kids where they can try their hand at various forms of art from sculpture to collages. The festival will feature music all day in "The Courtyard," with 10 different bands like Shoot Low Sheriff and Dragline performing.
