Authorities Identify Crowley Homicide Victims
CROWLEY (CBSDFW.COM) -- The medical examiner has released the identities of three victims found dead inside a home in Crowley on Sunday night.
The youngest victim has been identified as 13-year-old Yasmine Zavala. The medical examiner's office says she was strangled.
Her sister, 18-year-old Linda Gonzalez, was also found dead with multiple gunshots to the head.
"This is real life -- never doubt anything bad can happen," said Zavala's best friend. "Cause something will go wrong at times. She may be gone but she'll never be forgotten."
Samuel Morales, 36, and Xiomara Leon, 34, were also found dead at the scene. Leon's death was ruled a homicide by multiple gunshot wounds.
The only person to survive the killings was a 9-year-old boy, who managed to call a family member, telling them a man was at the house, trying to kill himself. He was not injured in the incident.
Police are not saying if the incident was a murder-suicide, but are calling the incident an isolated event.
A vigil has been scheduled for Tuesday night at Crowley's Bicentennial Park, just a few blocks away from the home where the bodies were discovered.
