At Least Two Train Cars Overturned During Derailment In Arlington
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – At least two train cars overturned when an eastbound Union Pacific train in motion collided with one that was parked on the tracks near Division Road and Dottie Lynn Parkway Saturday night, an officer on the scene said.
Arlington Police said no one was injured in the derailment. A stretch of about one mile from Dottie Lynn Parkway to West Fork Drive along Division was closed while railroad authorities investigated the accident.
However, hundreds attending a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club at a home near the derailment were stranded after authorities closed off the segment of the road. The crash blocked the one exit out of the venue.
They were being routed through a nearby pasture to a park road and then back onto the streets just east of the incident.
