Around Town: Doctor Who Day At The British Emporium

The television show Doctor Who is one of the longest running TV series in the world. Fans of the show come from all over every year for the annual Doctor Who Day at The British Emporium in Grapevine.

The British Emporium has been open for twenty five years and offers everything British from tea and biscuits to games and of course, Doctor Who memorabilia.

"The fans started sort of meeting here and congregating a few years ago.  So we thought, why not have an actual fan meet here" said The British Emporium owner Sheela Bailey.

Sheela grew up in England and discovered, after she moved here, that it was hard to find a good cup of British hot tea in Texas.  She started out just selling tea, but it wasn't too long before folks started requesting cookies and all the other typically British goodies, so The British Emporium was born.

The annual Doctor Who day attracts fans from all over Texas, and sometimes beyond.  The day will see costumes, cool cars and much more.

"We will have props set up in the parking lot in front of the shop, multiple TARDISES, we will have a TARDIS car that will be here" noted Jeff Herndon the Master of Ceremonies for the event on Sunday.

JD Ryan is traveling by TARDIS to The British Emporium in Grapevine...Around Town!
