Argument Leads To Alleged Murder In Joshua

JOSHUA (CBSDFW.COM) - A man from Joshua was arrested on Thanksgiving Day for allegedly killing another man.

The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Jeremy Dwayne Denton. Johnson County Sheriff Bob Alford said that he and 54-year-old Lee Russell Grubbs, also from Joshua, got into an argument after both had been drinking alcohol.

The argument – reportedly about Denton's behavior – led to a fight between the two men. Grubbs was struck several times in the head and face, according to a statement released by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. He died from his injuries.

Denton initially fled the scene, but later turned himself in to the proper authorities. Denton has been charged with murder and is now being detained in Johnson County. His bond is set at $250,000.
