Are the Cowboys Draft Choices A Bust?

Irving (105.3 The Fan) So what is left of the Class of 2009 Draft after this week's release of their top pick Jason Williams, who was a 3rd rounder? Here is what you have from what is quickly becoming a total bust of a draft.

Stephen McGee - Taken in the fourth round, McGee is starting to look like one of those "maybe" guys as a third teamer.  Forever.  His one extended playing time vs. Miami in the pre-season and his training camp work makes it look like he still has a long long way to go.  Probably competing for a roster spot next year with somebody we don't know yet.

Victor Butler-  has shown flashes at times at LB, but still just a "guy."

David Buehler -   has quietly settled down at kicker making 9 of 12 FG's and 17/17 on extra points.  Appears he is going to be okay, for now.

John Phillips- the tight end was having one of the best training camps of all the players before he blew out his knee.  Phillips will be a contributor down the line.

So of the 12 picks the Cowboys made in the draft, that's it.  This appears to be a D grade or maybe a "high F" if there is such a thing.

The Cowboys simply cannot continue to have non-drafts...and this class was evaluated and graded in a little over a year.  These are among the reasons the Cowboys find themselves looking up at everybody in the NFL and down at only winless Buffalo.

Ouch.
