American Airlines Announces Happy Hour Specials

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - It will still cost passengers, but alcohol on certain American Airlines flights will be cheaper.

The Fort Worth-based airline announced plans to offer travelers cocktails, wine and beer for $5.

But the deal comes with several details. The offer starts on December 1 and lasts through the end of the month on American Airlines and American Eagle flights.

According to a news release, the "5@5 Happy Hour" will be available on-board domestic, Canada, Caribbean and Mexico flights scheduled to depart between 5 P.M. and 5:59 P.M. The happy hour prices are in effect for the duration of the flight.

Offering an inflight happy hour is our small way of saying thank you," said Rob Friedman, American's Vice President of Marketing. "...the 5@5 happy hour enhances the travel experience for our customers while adding an element of fun onboard during the holiday travel season."

The savings comes out to $1 on beer and $2 on liquor and wine.

"We want to show our customers that we appreciate their business," said Friedman.

If you don't want to 'belly up to the bar', American serves complimentary non-alcoholic beverages onboard.
