Alcohol Suspected In Denison Man's Drowning Death
PRESTON, Okla. (AP) – Authorities say a 42-year-old man from Texas has drowned on the Red River near the Lake Texoma Dam.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety says Barry D. Nelson of Denison, Texas, drowned at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Witnesses saw Nelson enter the water to swim and later noticed he wasn't moving. They pulled him to shore and tried to revive him. Officials say Nelson was pronounced dead at a Denison hospital.
Investigators say alcohol may have been involved in the incident.
