with apologies to lou grant...well..the arlington nine have put themselves in a giant pickle jar..blowing a mindboggling lead in the al west and allowing the swinging a's to run down the division.."how the west was blown" will forever be a punchline/ reference default..now..it's a one game sudden death/do or die/everything on line/lose you go home/second guessing circus..who'd have thunk it..178 days in first place..i thought the franchise had slayed the baseball karma gods..but they seem alive and well..as for what happens against the dangerous balt o's??...who the &@$€ knows...i'm old enough to remember when zz topp was greatness..now they are nothing more than a clown carnival parody of themselves...nice to see our gridiron gang cowboys getting some "much needed days off"..by the time they get back to work on this coming wednesday..there will have been 30 days since giants win..and in that span of time..jason's guys have had 12 days off..almost two weeks!!..more days off than jimmy gave the team in his five years at the helm...dogs are better than people..and certainly more trustworthy...bad news for my beloved horn frogs..outlaw qb casey pachall cop-popped for a dui..yet another strike on his troubled ledger..coach gary wasted no time in suspending him indefinitely..now patterson says he will be in uniform this weekend vs. iowa state..but won't play..very dangerous president..I understand the "protective mother-hen" theory..and god knows we all need a second chance (see:me)..but what about tanner brock?..as tcu crazy-ass as i am..i still think he needs to move on..he should never don the purple and white again...i never got the hang of calculus..or algebra for that matter...even though mlb added a second wild card..and the chaos of the last day was exciting..count me out on the one game play-in affair..a one game series in baseball are dangerous..and often unfair...TRIVIA TIME...there is only one team in the nfl that the cowboys have never beaten..name that pesky outfit??..answer down yonder...josh ham chances of being in rangers uni opening day next year?..less than 1%..he's gone..rangers brass have grown tired of his act..not sure i blame them...ATTENTION ALL COWBOYS FANS!!..there is a new book out...it's titled "ten gallon war"..written by dallas native john eisenberg..chronicles the infant days of the cowboys when they waged a steel-cage fistfight with the rival dallas texans of the upstart afl..it's must reading..if you don't read this..you can't call yourself a cowboy loyalist..and your rooting card should be revoked..it's terrific..and very eye-opening..order it right now...I went to a gun show last weekend..some very frightening humans lurking..i wondered if i saw the next charles whitman or james holmes nutcase milling about...in the "i'm one lucky sob"department..the great guys at texas motor speedway have tabbed me to ferry a driver during introductions..yes..i will man a brand new chevy silvarado truck and circle the track with a nascar motorist in the bed..my driver??..yep..the face of nascar..dale jr..mucho gracios to kenton nelson and tms head honcho eddie gossage..i promise no burnouts..btw..speaking of tms..many terrific surprises for the triple a texas 500..the "wild asphalt circus" will be in full bloom..i'd get my tix today if i were you...locked and loaded lyric to chew on..."i volunteered for the army on my birthday.they draft the white trash first 'round here anyway.
