70's and 80's by the Weekend in DFW

The cooler weather is on the way out and some warmer weather arrives this weekend.

But many areas did see a freeze again this morning.

Here are the morning lows from Thursday morning.

Temperatures will warm to near 70 tomorrow and then into the 70s on Saturday, 80s by Sunday.

Here is the temperature trend for the next five days.

The weather setup for the weekend is one of my favorites to talk about.  An area of low pressure will track across Kansas.  This will first allow a warm front to surge northward on Saturday and warm us into the 70s.  On Sunday, a dryline type front will surge east of Dallas.  That will put most of the area in westerly flow and bring in dry air from West Texas.  This will help warm our temperatures into the low 80s.  But the warm up will be short-lived as a cold front arrives Sunday evening and cooler air arrives for Monday.

SATURDAY - May see a quick light rain shower in the morning, but most of the day will be dry and mild with a high of 75.  Below is the way the map will look in the afternoon on Saturday.

SUNDAY - The dryline moves east and we get into the warm/dry air coming in from West Texas.  Temps climb into the low 80s.  Map is below.

MONDAY - Cold front arrives Sunday evening and behind the front cooler air arrives.  Highs on Monday will be in the 60s.
