5 Students, Driver Hospitalized After Corsicana School Bus Crash

CORSICANA (AP) -- Authorities say a collision between a small school bus and an SUV has sent seven people to a hospital and left the district vehicle on its side.

Corsicana police Chief Randy Bratton says the school bus failed to yield the right of way Tuesday morning.

A Corsicana Independent School District spokesman told The Associated Press that all five special-needs students and the bus driver were transported to a hospital, as a precaution.

Authorities say the SUV driver later complained of pain and also went to the hospital.

Police say the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday as the students were being transported to school in Corsicana, located 50 miles southeast of Dallas.
