3 Weapons To Launch Your Career

Looking to move up the career ladder? Every day you have opportunities to meet influential people who can help you get there. That is, IF your "presentation arsenal" is up to snuff.

Strategist and C.E.O. coach Tony Jeary of Flower Mound has coached and consulted thousands on personal and professional success.

He says to always keep 3 "presentation arsenals" at the ready:

1. Your mental arsenal: have a quote or memorable story about yourself, ready to share at all times.

2. Your physical arsenal: your business card, brochure, even a book you've written or enjoy sharing. Keep this physical weapon available everywhere you go--in your car, brief case, purse, your wife's purse. That way, when you meet someone on the street, in the airport, or at your child's school, you're ready to share your core message.

3. Your electronic arsenal: Keep quotes, URLs, even a video about yourself or your company stored and accessible in your computer or phone. It will be ready to cut, paste, or "show and tell" at the click of a button.

Jeary's favorite quote is  "Life is a series of presentations." Whenever you speak to anyone, whether in person, via email, or on the phone, you are presenting yourself. So be sharp and prepared. That way when opportunity knocks, you're ready to seize it. And success will follow.
