MELISSA (CBSDFW.COM) – A 25-year-old Collin County man suffered a heat stoke Saturday and died.

Randy Granillo was installing floors at his home in Melissa when his co-workers said he could no longer use his fingers.

Granillo was rushed to the hospital where he passed away.

One of his co-workers has warned Granillo's surviving crew about the dangers of working in the Texas heat.

"I tell them if they don't feel good and it's too hot to tell me we'll take a break, a 15 minute water break, whatever it takes. That's what we do with the guys and we try to stay in the shade when we eat lunch," said Ruben Contreras. "We try to stay out of the sun as much as we can."

Aside from taking breaks, Conteras also said it's important to make healthy food choices when working in the intense heat.

The Collin County medical examiner confirmed Granillo's cause of death Friday.
