18 Wheeler Loses Axle, Shuts Down Lanes Of I-35E
(CARROLLTON CBSDFW.COM) - Carrollton Police say an 18 wheeler would lose an axle while traveling on I35 E early Saturday morning.
The disabled vehicle would force authorities to shut down all northbound lanes of I35 E approaching Whitlock Lane and Sandy Lake Road for hours.
Drivers faced a rare Saturday morning traffic jam.
Motorists were asked to exit at Belt Line and West to the President George Bush Turnpike to rejoin I35E N north of the accident.
The northbound service road was reopened around 9 am. The northbound lanes of the freeway finally reopened around 1pm Saturday.
