Chilly Night, then Warm and Windy for the Weekend
CHILLY NIGHT THEN WARMING FOR THE WEEKEND…
Tonight with clear skies and winds become light, temperatures will drop into the low 40s and upper 30s. The winds will quickly lesson once the sun sets so there won't be much of a wind chill factor tonight or tomorrow morning. Here are the lows tonight across North Texas.
TOMORROW will be a beautiful day. Sunny skies and light winds. Temperatures will warm into the mid 60s.
WINDS INCREASE AND TEMPERATURES WARM…
Friday into the weekend, winds will start to increase as a storm system moves into the Northern Plains. A piece of energy from the massive Alaska storm will help initiate this storm in the Northern Plains. (READ MORE ABOUT ALASKA STORM HERE) This low pressure will strengthen Friday and force winds to increase out of the south in the Southern Plains. Winds will likely increase on Friday afternoon and stay windy thru Sunday morning. Winds on the order of 20 to 30 mph during the day can be expected. Temperatures will respond to those southerly winds. Highs on Friday will be around 70 degrees after a Friday morning low of 42. Saturday temperatures will start in the mid 50s and then warm into the mid to upper 70s! Sunday will be our warmest day with temperatures starting around 60 and warming into the 80s!
STORM CHANCES LOOK PRETTY GOOD ON MONDAY…
A strong upper level trough of low pressure will swing across Texas on Monday. The timing varies by about 12 hours on when the storms will arrive, but either in the morning or in the afternoon on Monday is when we can expect some showers and thunderstorms. The morning hours would help decrease the severe threat, but if the storms wait until the afternoon it appears we would have the potential for severe weather on Monday.
