The Simpsons - 'Rosebud'

The Simpsons find Mr. Burns' long-lost childhood teddy bear.

During a dream, Mr. Burns relives the loss of his beloved teddy bear, Bobo. Homer arrives at the power plant with a clothes hanger stuck in his shirt and his fellow employees laugh as he struggles to remove it. Mr. Burns spots the levity on his security camera and instructs Smithers to have Homer perform comedy at his upcoming birthday party. At the lavish affair, the rock group The Ramones performs a song which Burns dislikes. Homer follows their act and makes fun of Burns' foibles. Burns takes his remarks seriously and orders his guards to beat Homer up.

Bart travels to the Kwik-E-Mart to buy ice for Homer's injuries. He finds Burns' teddy bear frozen into the bag of ice, but not knowing what it is, gives it to Maggie. Meanwhile, Burns orders Smithers to find his long-lost bear, and the media is soon publicizing the hunt. Homer finally realizes he possesses the bear, and despite Lisa's plea to just give Burns the toy, Homer decides to try and get as much money as possible for it. Burns finally agrees to a huge cash settlement. As Homer is about to give Burns the stuffed animal, he realizes Maggie has become attached to it, and valuing the happiness of his child more than money, he cancels the deal.

Burns and Smithers try in vain to reclaim the bear by sneaking into the Simpson home at night. At work, Burns relocates Homer into the bowels of the plant. Realizing that Homer's two favorite things in life are beer and television, Burns takes over all seventy-eight cable channels and diverts shipments of beer from Springfield. Blaming the blockade on the Simpsons, local townspeople become enraged and mob their home, taking the bear. When Maggie cries after the bear is taken from her, the mob returns it. Burns realizes he has lost the battle and tells Maggie not to make the same mistake he did—hold on to the bear. Sympathetic, Maggie gives the stuffed animal to Burns.
