Crews Gain Upper Hand On San Jose House Fire
SAN JOSE (BCN) - Firefighters controlled a two-alarm fire that damaged a house in northeast San Jose Friday afternoon, a fire captain said.
Neighbors reported the fire at 2508 Vista Verde Drive at 2:33 p.m., Capt. Chuck Rangel said.
Firefighters were at the scene of the fire at 2:39 p.m. and the flames were extinguished within 30 minutes, Rangel said.
The blaze appeared to have started in the kitchen area of the single-story home and spread to the attic.
Nobody was home at the time and no injuries were reported, Rangel said.
Investigators had not determined the cause of the fire or the cost of the damage to the home as of 3:30 p.m., he said.
