SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Neighbors say water shot into the air for at least an hour early Thursday morning due to a water main break.

The scene is on Orange Grove Avenue, just north of the Interstate 80-Business 80 interchange.

A homeowner living nearby says they first spotted the water gushing just after 4:30 a.m. and reported it to the water company. Water was seen shooting a few feet into the air.

Crews have been able to stop the water from flowing, but firefighters are warning that there could be a possible sinkhole underneath the pipe.

Crews will be out for several hours dealing with the sinkhole and broken pipe.
