Strip Club Settles Overtime Lawsuit With Dancers For $283,000

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The South Carolina company that owns a Pennsylvania strip club is paying nearly $283,000 to settle dancers' claims that they weren't properly paid overtime.

Thirty dancers filed a federal lawsuit two years ago against Platinum Plus club in Allentown, and owner KWLT LLC.

The dancers claim they weren't paid wages, only tips, and often worked more than 40 hours a week. Moreover, the strippers say the club made them pay part of their tips to the club to cover the cost of disc jockeys, bouncers and servers.

The settlement filed Tuesday must still be approved by a federal judge. It indicates the club and its owners don't oppose the deal but that nothing in the settlement "constitutes an admission or suggestion of liability" by them.
