Citrus Heights Man, 30, Paralyzed In Hawaii Surfing Accident
OAHU, Hawaii (CBS13) – A Citrus Heights man is now paralyzed after a surfing accident in Hawaii.
Mike Droter, 30, planned a surprise vacation to Oahu as a birthday present for his girlfriend.
Droter was body surfing when a powerful wave swept him under causing him to break his neck.
He has lost mobility from the neck down and is now on a breathing machine. Family and friends have started a GoFundMe page to help with the medical costs and get him back to Sacramento.
