WVU's Holgorsen: We Can Win With More Than One QB

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The West Virginia Mountaineers begin their second year in the Big 12, and head football coach Dana Holgorsen previews the season with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan.

"Every year is different," Holgorsen says about the season ahead. "Regardless of what happened in 2012, this is a different team for a lot of reasons. We gotta identify who we are and what we need to work on. Looking forward to the first game to figure that out."

Holgorsen admits that he has no problem going into the season with no clear starting quarterback.

"I figured one would rise and a couple would fall, but basically they all elevated their game," he says. "I view it as a good thing to be able to have a bunch of guys we feel good about going into a game. I do think it's going to take game situations and game reps before someone actually solidifies the job. It's becoming more apparent in college football that you're going to have to be able to play more than one [quarterback]. We feel like we can play more than one in order to win."

Coach also looks forward to a better defensive effort, reveals what Geno Smith may be in for with the New York Jets, and tells whether he has any advice for Pitt's Paul Chryst as the Panthers begin playing in a new conference. Hear the entire interview below!
