Truck Weight Limits Going Up

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- KDKA Radio's Mike Pintek was joined today by Jim Runk, President and CEO of PA Motor Truck Association.

They discussed the advantages and disadvantages of heavier trucks on the road.

Runk talks about what Congress wants to do by giving trucks the opportunity to be cleaner as well as more fuel and storing efficient. Congress would like to move the weight limit on trucks from 80,000 pounds to 97,000 pounds.

Runk talks with Pintek about the advantages and disadvantages he sees with the idea and how it could affect western Pennsylvania.
