Steelers Jacket Saves Man From Fire
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have given their fans many memories that they'll forever hold onto, but one Steelers fan was given a memory, and possibly a second chance at life, because of his love for the Steelers.
As Kirk Larrabee of 247Sports writes, a Steelers fan in Albuquerque, N.M. named Sammy Mackeyfill was in his home when the apartment next door to him caught fire.
Mackeyfill had just enough time to grab his Steelers jacket and get out of the house before the flames reached his apartment.
Mackeyfill says putting on the jacket possibly saved his life because when he got outside, he realized that the jacket he put on ended up getting burned, saving his own skin.
The jacket was obviously ruined, but the story still has a happy ending for Mackeyfill, as an anonymous viewer saw his story and decided to help him out by donating a new jacket.
"That's really nice," Mackeyfill told KOB in Albuquerque. "Whoever sent it, I really appreciate it. It's really nice."
