Sex, Masturbation Seminar Held Inside Meadville Chapel

MEADVILLE (KDKA) – Sex, masturbation, and orgasm: not exactly what you would typically find being taught in a chapel, but that's what took place Wednesday night at Allegheny College's Ford Memorial Chapel.

The blog The College Fix, reports Wednesday night's event was called, "I Heart the Female Orgasm," and hosted by a variety of student groups on campus.

The paper says at one point during the seminar, two sex educators advised students how best to touch themselves, and their partners, among other things.

The seminars have outraged some, including Bill Donohue of the Albany Tribune. He sent a letter to Allegheny College President Jim Mullen, upset over the venue of the seminar.

President Jim Mullen tells KDKA, "Our campus is and will be a place where a wide range of ideas and topics can be openly discussed, and that includes conversations about sexuality that might be uncomfortable for some."

Mullen also says he wishes the seminar would have been held at another venue.
