Seven Springs Resort Buying Hidden Valley

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- After rumors surfaced last week, a deal has now been officially announced.

Officials with Seven Springs Resort say they will acquire the nearby Hidden Valley Resort.

The potential sale was first reported last week, but neither company would confirm a deal was in the works.

Six years ago, the Buncher Group bought Hidden Valley for $12.4 million and spent millions more upgrading this facility.

In a press release, Chairman of Seven Springs Bob Nutting said: "We have great respect for The Buncher Company. They have been good stewards of the resort since 2007. As we have demonstrated with all of our other operations in the region, we are committed to the long-term success of Hidden Valley as a family destination."

The two resorts are located only 13 miles apart.

The Hidden Valley Resort is about 1,200 acres with 29 ski slopes and an 18-hole golf course.

Seven Springs isn't saying what it will do with Hidden Valley, but says it's committed to its long-term success as a family destination.

"We have long held a deep appreciation for Hidden Valley and the family experience it offers. I have fond memories of skiing these very slopes and the slopes of Seven Springs with my family during my childhood and with my children. Every year, thousands of families build similar memories and experiences at Hidden Valley and Seven Springs. That is something we respect, appreciate and will build on moving forward. We want to ensure that more and more guests have the opportunity to develop the passion for the outdoors in the Laurel Highlands," Nutting added.
