Pirates Look To Go Back Over .500

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pirates will look to rebound from last night's 10-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Clint Hurdle will send lefty Paul Maholm to the mound to take on righty Hiroki Kuroda.

Tonight's Game Notes:
*Pirates CF Andrew McCutchen hit two home runs last night and is now tied with Matt Kemp for second among home runs hit by NL centerfielders (Arizona's Chris Young leads with eight).

*Lefty Joe Beimel has made 91 career appearances at PNC Park, good for eight place on the all-time list; one game behind Brian Meadows (92) and three behind Mike Gonzalez (94)......Lefty John Grabow is the all-time leader with 195 games pitched .

*The Pirates have homered in five of their last six games and in six of their last eight.....Pittsburgh is 11-8 when hitting at least one homer in a game and 5-2 when going deep two or more times.

*The Pirates recalled pitcher Jose Ascanio from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis and reinstated him from the disabled list. To make room for Ascanio on the 25-man active roster, the Pirates have placed pitcher Mike Crotta on the 15-day disabled list with right posterior elbow inflammation.
