Penguins' Analyst Bob Errey: Emotion, Crosby Key To Turnaround
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Penguins have won four straight, and ROOT Sports' Penguins' analyst Bob Errey breaks it down with Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan's Vinnie & Cook.
Errey points to two major reasons for the Pens' turnaround. First, he singles out Penguins' superstar Sidney Crosby, who has picked up his level of play.
"Sidney Crosby has found that extra gear in the last couple of games," Errey says. "He has shown that he can be a dominant player again."
Second, Errey notes that the Penguins are playing with emotion again, something that was lacking in a home loss to the New York Islanders last week.
"I think they did some soul-searching after that," says Errey. "They looked in the mirror and said, 'We're a talented hockey team, but there's a lot of talent in this league. If you don't bring the emotion with it -- that moxie, if you will -- you're not going to accomplish what you really want.'"
Errey also tells what he's seen from new Penguin Zach Boychuk, weighs in on Alexander Ovechkin's struggles, and warns the Penguins not to take the Washington Capitals lightly.
