Monessen Police Make Heroin Bust During Traffic Stop
MONESSEN (KDKA) -- Two men are facing charges after police made a drug bust during a traffic stop in Westmoreland County. It's the third one in recent weeks.
This latest drug bust happened when Monessen officers, after a four months investigation, got a tip and executed a traffic stop.
Hoover Street near Crest Drive is where officers say they pulled over a car carrying 29-year-old Curtis Powell of Donora and 25-year-old Kevin Suber of Monessen.
According to investigators, inside the vehicle, officers found a bundle of suspected heroin with the street name of "GPS."
It's the latest stash grabbed by police, added to the growing pile of heroin case evidence inside Westmoreland County's courthouse.
The target of multiple controlled buys by investigators, Suber was arrested. Powell, who was driving the car, was also charged.
Monessen Police used the same traffic stop method to take down an alleged heroin dealer in December.
Suber remains in the Westmoreland County Jail on $30,000 straight cash bond. Powell is also in the Westmoreland County lockup, held on $10,000 bond.
