Man Apologizes For Incident That Ended With Baldwin Officer Being Shot

BALDWIN (KDKA) -- A man accused in a police incident earlier this month that ended with one officer shooting another is now in jail.

Brian Lijewski surrendered to authorities Wednesday afternoon and offered a public apology.

Baldwin Police Sgt. Ralph Miller was shot by a fellow officer while responding to a domestic call back on the morning of Feb. 10 at a home on Elmwood Drive.

"Brian Lijewski did at one time have a colorful past. He paid for that past. He was charged," said Phil DiLucente, the defense attorney. "A known felon is not supposed to have a gun in the home. We are going to fight that in another forum."

Lijewski is facing three counts of reckless endangerment of another person and three counts of simple assault.
