Heinz Field Named New Filming Site For Batman Movie
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - After filming in front of Carnegie Mellon University, the producers of the new "Batman" movie, "The Dark Knight Rises," will be filming at Heinz Field.
The Steelers confirmed that filmmakers will be at Heinz Field for one day only on Saturday, Aug. 6. The Steelers announced on their website that the producers of the film are looking for enough "fans to fill a stadium."
The film is said to include a scene from a football game, but you won't be seeing the Steelers play. Heinz Field will serve as the stadium in Gotham City, the website said.
Do you want to be a part of the movie magic? Instructions to become a movie extra are at BeInAMovie.com and also on the Steelers' website. There will also be "action, excitement, special effects and explosions."
A Steelers spokesman declined to comment about the specifics of the filming, referring all calls to the producers.
The movie, which stars Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway, will also film scenes at the Software Engineering Institute and the Mellon Institute at CMU.
