Hall Of Fame QB, Joe Namath On Roethlisberger: 'Sensational'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Ron Cook filled in for the Fan Morning Show, and spoke with Hall of Fame quarterback, Joe Namath on Monday.

Namath is back in town to be honored at his alma mater, Beaver Falls High School this week. Joe shares some stories about playing for Beaver Falls in the 1960s and what it meant to him to play in Pittsburgh, and how much he enjoyed playing football in western Pennsylvania as a kid.

We move on to the NFL and Joe talks about his former team, the New York Jets. He thinks that all of the talk has to be backed up, and they may believe that they are the best, but they have to prove it.

Joe is also concerned with the Jets' offensive line. As far as Plaxico Burress and his potential success, Joe has his doubts that Plax can come back after sitting out of the game for over two years.

Joe made the most famous prediction in sports history saying that his Jets would beat the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, and he said that he never gets tired of talking about it. His mentality is, "Why should I get tired of talking about it?" when it was such a great moment in his career.

Ron asks Joe's thoughts on who is the best quarterback in the NFL. Joe says that there are a few great quarterbacks in the league, but a lot of it depends on how good the team is. He would rate Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rogers, and Ben Roethlisberger as the top-tier. As for Roethlisberger, Namath called him "sensational" saying, "I would take him on my team any day of the week."
