Fred Rogers' Alma Mater Rollins College Unveils Plans For Commemorative Statue

WINTER PARK, Fl. (KDKA) -- A new statue of Fred Rogers will be going up at his alma mater.
It is called a "A Beautiful Day For a Neighborhood."
Rollins College in Florida unveiled a clay sculpture with Mr. Rogers and Daniel the Striped Tiger surrounded by children.
Sculpter Paul Day created the piece.
It will be cast in bronze and placed on the campus where the late Fred and Joanne Rogers used to stroll.
The final sculpture will be installed in October.
