PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A battle of words on Facebook allegedly led to a pregnant woman being stabbed at an East Liberty nightclub.
But despite surveillance video of the incident, what really happens depends on whom you ask.
The managers at the Taboo nightclub in East Liberty say Jasmine Hardin did not stab a 31-year-old pregnant woman at the club Saturday night.
They say Hardin was provoked and add that video from inside that night shows it.
Marsha Collins, the operating manager of the club, said, "Jasmine never produced a weapon. There was no weapon produced. The tape shows that."
Collins, who was at the club Saturday night, says the victim of the alleged attack, Ebony Parran, who told police she was five-months pregnant, has an inaccurate interpretation of the events that landed Hardin behind bars on assault charges.
Collins says it was Parran and her sister who started the melee.
"They approached Jasmine, and they had their verbal confrontation about the Facebook argument that they were having, so Jasmine is saying to her, 'I don't want to fight you. You're pregnant,'" Collins said.
The nightclub bartender that night says she didn't even know Parran was pregnant and that she ordered an alcoholic drink before engaging in the altercation.
The bartender said, "I watched the pregnant girl and her twin sister provoke the whole thing and it looked like they wanted to jump on that young girl and she wasn't having it."
Collins says the security inside the club was able to diffuse the fight before getting Hardin out of the club first. She says there were scratches on Parran's face, but never saw stab wounds.
"If she was stabbed, there would be blood on the floor, there would have been blood on the security. Neither," Collins said. "She left, her and her sister drove around for a few minutes and that's when she came back and said she was stabbed."
Collins says she hopes releasing the video clears the nightclub's name because it has a zero tolerance for weapons. She also hopes it helps Hardin get out of jail.
